Staff:

   BonitaBonita Mitchell – Executive Director.                                    Bonita earned a degree in Fashion and Merchandising from Davenport College, Grand Rapids, MI where she began her journey of developing her passion for helping others and overcoming self-doubt in two complementary directions: singing and fashion design.  An accomplished singer herself, she co-founded the singing group R.A.R.E. (Rebuilding Awareness Reaffirming Education).  Ms. Mitchell also had her own clothing line.  For ten years, Bonita and her sisters led Stevie Wonder’s wardrobe design team, traveling the world on tour with him, and developing her singing, writing, and producing skills as his protégé. She started Thread of Hope Records and I’m Saving Myself in 2000.  She has been the executive director of both organizations since.

Cindy Ehrenberg – Assistant Director of Programming – Cindy has been a Probation officer in Berrien District Court after graduating with a BSW from WMU in 1976. She became the Director of the Victim Assistance Program in Berrien County where she implemented the program and supervised the staff of the victim/witness program from March 1986 until October of 1992. She worked as a mediator for the friend of the court supervising visitations, advocating for the child from Oct of 1992 until November of 1994. She took a break to raise 2 daughters from 1994-2006. She worked as a court referral coordinator with the Volunteer Center of SWMI from Feb of 2006 until Dec of 2009.  Most recently, she was the Director of Community & Volunteer Relations at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Benton Harbor until March of 2015.  Cindy is married to Robert and, together, they have 2 grown daughters. They attend First Congregational Church where Cindy is active multiple boards.

Ronda Collier – Marketing Manager. Ronda earned her masters in nonprofit administration from the University of Notre Dame, South Bend, IN and her B.A. in marketing from Andrew’s University, Berrien Springs, MI. Ronda has experience in creating fund development plans, in-depth donor research, donor segmentation and strategy development. Before joining the nonprofit sector, she acquired experience in B2B marketing, advertising, public relations and consumer care at Whirlpool Corporation.

 Robin Krugh – Production Director.  Robin earned her A.A.S. in Liberal Arts from Lake Michigan College, Benton Harbor, MI.  She has 10 years of experience in concert production with ISM.  Ms. Krugh has been employed by Eau Claire Public Schools for the past 7 years.  She won the L.A.N.D. and the Michigan Department of Education’s Student Scholar Award for her psychology research paper (Women’s Studies Category) entitled “A Relationship Exists Between Low Self-Esteem and Emotional Abuse Among Married Women”, which was subsequently published.

Bob Ingels – Guitar Instructor.  Bob started out life in a broken home in the Southside of Chicago. He spent his youth and teens in a street gang, in and out of trouble with the law, which had him headed in the direction of either life in prison or death. At 18, while at his lowest point, married to his high school sweetheart and with a newborn son, he was invited to Church and heard the gospel for the very first time. That set off a radical change in his life. Today, Bob is a successful husband of 21 years and father of two grown children. He is a Evangelist and Ministry Leader in the Church and has years of experience in the areas of marriage and family, mentoring men, marriages and at risk teens to help them find the same change he did. His education lies in finishing “The Streets to Trade” program in Chicago, which prepared him for a 20 year long career in Printing. He’s studied Biblical studies and ministry and is currently working toward finishing his degree. Musically, Bob has always had a love of guitar, taking private lessons and going on to finish 3 summer semesters with the National Guitar Workshop, studying Blues and Rock guitar. He has played in various bands and musical projects and leads worship. He can be found most weekends playing guitar on the worship team at First Church of God in St. Joseph, MI. He teaches guitar privately and has seen his students go on to play successfully. He has recorded and has the goal of finishing his own album. He believes music heals and can be a positive driving force for change in a person’s life, as it has been in his own.

Becky Bennett – Finance Director.  Becky earned her B.A. with an emphasis on Accounting from Mercer University, Macon, GA.  She received a certificate in Franchise Management from Georgetown University, Arlington, VA.  Ms. Bennett founded four companies and co-founded a fifth.  She continues to serve as President & CEO–Entrepreneur Success, Inc. & Royalties, Inc.Bob Ingels – Guitar Instructor.  Bob started out life in a broken home in the Southside of Chicago. Romy Ingels – Social Media Manager and Assistant Marketing Manager – Romy is currently working as medical biller with Southwestern Christian Counseling (SWMC) in her field of interest (Psychology).  She is also a student of psychology and marketing (currently working toward a degree from Lake Michigan College).  She is a self-trained social media aficionado.  She has achieved a level of competency in SoMed that, along with her marketing training, will help expose the great work of the ISM organization.  Her goal is to engage the community and create a sense of urgency to act in the interest of the children of SW Michigan.   Prior to working with SWCC and ISM, Romy worked for Whirlpool for 5 years.  From there, she was called into a ministry position with Well of GRACE Ministries (WOG), a program for young women who struggle with various issues from homelessness to mental health disorders. Coming from a broken home herself and having witnessed domestic abuse, Romy was naturally drawn to the position of House Manager for WOG’s inpatient group home.  Having found healing in Christ, she had overcome many of the obstacles she faced, which gave her a heart for people and helping others.  She has been married to ISM guitar instructor, Bob Ingels, for over 20 years. Together, they have four children (two of the four-legged variety). She currently leads her church Marriage Ministry with Bob and is lead Marriage Mentor for the church.

 Sandy Imanse – Counselor/Social Worker – Sandy a licensed master-level social worker with over 30 years experience working in many fields including: hospital social work, mental health case-management, mental health therapy, school guidance/counseling and parenting education.
